Why Should My Business Be On Apple Maps?

Why Should my Business be Listed on Apple Maps?

As business owners and digital marketers, we know that having a presence in online directories and business listing sites are important for building a strong digital presence. There are numerous online directories that are free and simple to navigate that your business needs to be listed on. Google and Yelp are typically the first ones that come to mind, but there are plenty more that should not be neglected, such as Apple Maps.

What is Apple Maps?

Apple Maps, also referred to as Maps, is a web mapping service developed by Apple to provide directions and GPS services to drivers, pedestrians, and public transportation users. Simply put, Apple Maps is Apple’s version of Google Maps.

Why Should my Business be Listed on Apple Maps?

  • 1. Every Apple Product Defaults to Apple Maps

Since 2012, Apple has installed Apple Maps on all Apple operating systems. So all of your customers that use their iPhones for directions are likely using Apple Maps to find your business.

  • 2. Yelp Uses Apple Maps

If your business is listed on Yelp, it needs to be listed on Apple Maps as well. Yelp and Apple have a partnership where all Yelp listings show the business’s Apple Maps location. To ensure that the location information is correct, create and manage your Apple Maps listing.

  • 3. SEO Booster

The more correct and updated business listings you have online the better. Having an Apple Maps listing will never hurt you (unless it’s incorrect!) and will help your business’s overall SEO.
